At ABT Biogas, we are proud to announce that we have been granted German Patent DE 10 2024 121 135.0 for a new system to measure the volume of biogas produced in biogas plants.
The invention, titled “Device for determining the volume of biogas produced in a biogas plant,” provides a clear and practical solution to a key operational challenge: reliably measuring actual gas production.
What is the innovation about?
The system is based on an optimized plant configuration that integrates measurement devices into all inlet and outlet flows within the area defined by the biogas storage membrane, the air membrane, and the outer cover.
Based on this data, the volume of biogas produced can be determined directly, without relying on indirect estimations or complex systems.
Key benefits
This system allows continuous measurement of biogas production and is based on a measurement principle that does not depend on the shape of the membrane. This innovation enables:
- Simple and accurate measurement of the biogas volume produced.
- Continuous assessment of plant health based on real production data
Early detection of deviations or failures (e.g., leaks, inefficiencies, or biological issues). - Improved process control and faster response capability.
- Greater transparency in plant performance.
This patent reflects our ongoing commitment to developing innovative solutions that drive efficiency and sustainability in the biogas sector.
